Die Baumaßnahme umfasst den Neubau der Kunkemühler Brücke als Stabbogenbrücke mit orthotroper Fahrbahnplatte, die Herstellung neuer Straßenrampen, den Rückbau der noch vorhandenen Brückenreste der teilweise abgebrochenen Brücke, die Beseitigung der Spundwandengstelle an der östlichen Kanalseite mit Herstellung eines Böschungsufers, sowie die Herstellung einer temporären Liegestelle zum Einschwimmen des Überbaus mit anschließender Ausbildung eines Böschungsufers an der westlichen Kanalseite.
