PostDoc (M/F) in Counting, Complexity, and Neurosymbolic Reasoning

CNRS - National Center for Scientific Research

Deadline

30 October 2026

Description

Offer Description: As machine learning systems become increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, we need guarantees of correctness in sensitive areas. The CertAI project aims to advance in this direction by leveraging certified model counting to certify machine learning results in restricted formal contexts. The objective of the proposed PostDoc is to work at the intersection of model counting and machine learning, with the aim of significantly improving counting performance, building on recent advances in normal forms for counting. The PostDoc is responsible for personally carrying out research, but it is also welcome if i would assist in guiding and instructing other PhD candidates and master students in the project. The PostDoc will take place at CRIL (Lens Computer Science Research Center), an internationally recognized laboratory renowned for its cutting-edge expertise in artificial intelligence, particularly in the areas of knowledge representation, reasoning (SAT, constraints), and model counting. The PostDoc will join a dynamic and respected team in these fields, benefiting from: - a stimulating research environment, - expert supervision, - and access to the necessary equipment and resources to carry out their work.
