Offer Description: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR GRANTS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF R&D PROJECTS AND INSTITUTIONS Research Grant for Doctoral Student Ref BOL/2026/00035 The Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), within the scope of the Iscte Association - Knowledge and Innovation, opens a call for the award of one (1) Research Grant for a Doctoral Student within the scope of the project KWI_SIRUK - Knowing, welcoming, including: socio-school inclusion of children and young people refugees from Ukraine, project no. 2023.17383.ICDT whose funding was approved by FCT, I.P., under the following conditions: Scientific area Social Sciences Funding Source: Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. within the scope of the Call for SR&TD Projects in All Scientific Domains 2023 Admission Requirements: Candidates must hold a master's degree in the areas of Sociology, Social Psychology or Social Geography and and be enrolled in a doctoral programme in one of these areas (according to Article 6 of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., Reg. No. 950/2019). Spoken and written command of Portuguese and English. Preferential Factors: a) Experience in the use of SPSS software or similar; b) Proven experience in data analysis and report writing; c) Experience in the application and analysis of questionnaire surveys; d) Experience in the use of MAXQDA software or similar; e) Experience in conducting and analyzing interviews and ethnographic work; f) Experience in the scientific management of research projects and project social networks; g) Interest in carrying out PhD and/or research work in the thematic area of the project; Work Plan: The work plan is based on support for research activities within the scope of the project KWI_SIRUK - Know, welcome, include: socio-school inclusion of children and young people refugees from Ukraine, namely: monitoring the application of questionnaire surveys in the field and online and respective statistical treatment; support in the preparation of project outputs, especially statistical reports and scientific articles; administrative and scientific support and management of the project; conduction, transcription and analysis of interviews; support in the promotion of participatory workshops and other community initiatives; support and participation in team meetings and in the organization of events to promote and disseminate the project, ensuring timely work and within the parameters set out in the project plan. Applicable legislation and regulations: Statute of the Scientific Research Grant Holder, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of 18 August, as amended, namely with the amendments introduced by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August, and by Decree-Law No. 65/2024, of 1 October; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., approved by Regulation No. 950/2019, of 16 December, in its current wording, republished by Notice (extract) No. 412/2026/2, of 7 January; Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions, in its current wording, including the amendments introduced by Decree-Law No. 86/2023, of 10 October; and other applicable legislation and regulations. Workplace: The work will be developed at the Center for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), of the Iscte Knowledge and Innovation Association, under the scientific supervision of Professor Maria Manuela Mendes. Duration of the fellowship: The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, scheduled to start in December 2026, renewable up to the maximum limit of the approved funding or up to the maximum duration of this type of fellowship (whichever occurs first), and may not in any case exceed the limits of paragraphs 3 and 6 of article 7 of Regulation no. 950/2019, of 29 November, published in Diário da República, no. 241
