The World Food Programme (WFP) Malawi is undergoing a strategic repositioning aimed at strengthening its alignment with national priorities, enhancing inter-agency collaboration, and supporting the Government of Malawi in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, with a particular emphasis on reaching Zero Hunger (SDG 2), and aligning with Government strategies, particularly its Vision 2063 achieving sustainable development goals. **JOB PURPOSE**: To support the development, maintenance and testing of assigned components of technology solutions under the guidance of senior team members, in line with business requirements. **THE ROLE:** Under the overall supervision and guidance of the product team, and in collaboration with the other teams in the supply chain, the Software Programmer, will: **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES** (**not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):** - Write code for assigned tasks, under guidance, in order to contribute to the development of efficient and effective IT solution components. - Contribute to technical systems documentation for assigned components in order to support systems maintenance. - Perform unit testing of new, enhanced or fixed code, and support integrated testing, in order to ensure adherence to technical specifications. - Support the installation and configuration of IT systems, following WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures. - Support the release of IT systems and early life support activities in order to enable proper use of the IT solution. - Respond to standard user queries, escalating non-routine issues, to ensure that accurate information is provided. - Contribute to the preparation of training materials and user guides on automated business processes to support efficient and effective use of IT systems. - Collect and organise data to support the preparation of accurate reports. - Ensure information is up to date and accurate within inventories, databases, websites, and archives in order to support senior officers in ma
