UNICEF’s Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) 2026-29 elaborates the steps required to accelerate progress on gender equality across the five Impact Result Areas of the Strategic Plan – health and nutrition, education, social policy, child protection and climate - as well as within institutional systems and processes, with clear indicators and monitoring mechanisms to track change. As mandated by the Executive Board of UNICEF, a report is prepared every year on the status of implementation of the GEAP, to be presented at the annual session of the Board. The global annual report is based on Country Office annual reporting on GEAP priorities through the Results and Assessment Module, as well as using data from other corporate platforms like Vision and the Emergency Preparedness Platform. In addition to the annual report to the Board, UNICEF prepares reports for the UN System-Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality, the UN Gender Equality Action Plan, and for donors to the gender equality portfolio. During the second half of the year, the GEAP hub’s focus shifts from reporting to supporting country-level implementation through technical assistance requests raised by Country Offices. To support these reporting and implementation requirements, the Gender Equality Section of the Programme Group seeks a consultant to support the following tasks: 1\) Support data quality assurance and aggregation for annual reporting 2\) Facilitate the production of gender equality annual reports to document gender results, challenges and lessons. 3\) Produce materials in support of technical assistance to countries. **How can you make a difference?** If you would like to know more about this position, please review the Terms of Reference here: **[ToR Consultant for Institutional Accountability on Gender Equality TMS.pdf](https://secure.dc7.pageuppeople.com/apply/TransferRichTextFile.ashx?sData=UFUtVjMt7HdZ9m_ODmZKEaJaa2wS_fyKj0FoPMy0bzv4MVF9SiDJgRdH1sHtH5UctpgZm-9eOve_3SoL3egmRIxHUAzOjkxKt0wqoxj434EGyt-XIxJa6BPWq7vp9b4AVZ0hUtrK51ANnPT3FZSyzF0PJXOE6w%7e%7e)** **To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:** **Minimum requirements:** **Education:** An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in social sciences (i.e. sociology, demography, psychology, political science, social policy or economics), public health, public policy, public administration, international development is required **Work Experience:** • A minimum of 5 (five) years of progressively responsible professional experience and demonstrated track record of having undertaken substantive writing and data analysis on gender and development. • Experience in managing programmes/projects is essential, including budgets and contracts. **Language Requirements:** • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
