Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (IQCC) is a research institute of the University of Girona (UdG) composed of >100 researchers and 15 research teams that produce internationally recognized cutting-edge research in the fields of theoretical chemistry, and homogeneous and enzymatic catalysis with competitive research projects at both national and international levels. Research at IQCC contributes to the final goal of a circular economy by creating chemical technologies that align with the principles of green chemistry and that implement sustainable methods of production. A key distinctive feature is the pursuit of a combined theoretical-experimental approach to address research problems. It trains from undergraduate, PhDs to postdoctoral associates and serves as a platform for the start of the career of independent scientists. Recognised Researcher position has been opened. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry and have experience in catalysis and/or biocatalysis. Experience in recombinant enzyme production, protein purification and enzyme characterization, together with organic synthesis and analytical techniques such as GC and HPLC, will be highly valued. The candidate should be able to work independently in a multidisciplinary research environment and have a scientific publication record appropriate to their career stage.
