Offer Description: IMDEA Energy is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher position for the Systems Analysis Unit and Nuclear Technology Unit to work on modeling and sustainability assessment of the implementation of nuclear small modular reactors (SMRs) in energy and industrial systems. The new researcher will join the research team of the Nuclear Technology and Systems Analysis Units aimed at the sustainability assessment of the implementation SMRs in industrial and civil applications. The new researcher will be in charge of: Modeling of energy systems integrating SMRs. Techno-economic assessment of the developed models and energy-related processes/systems. Sustainability assessment of the modeled energy systems and deployment scenarios. Dissemination and publication of research results in international scientific journals and conferences. Requirements: Research Field Engineering » Industrial engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent Research Field Engineering » Nuclear engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent Research Field Environmental science » Other Education Level PhD or equivalent Skills/Qualifications Madatory: PhD in Energy, Industrial, Nuclear or Environmental Engineering, or a related area. Deep knowledge and demonstrable experience on modeling at systems level and technoeconomic assessment of energy systems. Specific Requirements Valuable: Demonstrable knowledge of nuclear technology with emphasis on SMRs. Demonstrable knowledge of techno-economic assessment of energy and industrial processes/plants/systems. Demonstrable knowledge of environmental life cycle assessment. Knowledge of social life cycle assessment is an asset. Participation in networks, research projects and contracts in the field of simulation of energy or chemical systems. Fluent oral and written communication skills in English. Languages ENGLISH Level Good Additional Information: Benefits Remuneration: Between 40.000€ – 44.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise. *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
