Offer Description: Synthesis of bacterial cellulose and probiotic cellulose. Incorporation into PHA polymers. Investigation of their antibacterial activity against conventional strains using dynamic techniques (XCELL).. Requirements: Research Field Other Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent Skills/Qualifications A degree in Biology or Biochemistry. Specific Requirements Further training 10%: Language qualification (English) Professional experience 40%: Bioprocesses and Applied Microbiology. Bacterial Cellulose (BC) Synthesis: Cultivation and fermentation of producer strains, optimisation of culture media and purification/washing processes for cellulose hydrogel. Probiotic Systems: Handling and maintenance of probiotic bacteria (e.g. Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium), cell immobilisation or incorporation into a functional probiotic matrix. Culture and Biosafety: Working in a laminar flow cabinet, sterilisation, maintenance of strain collections and microbiological control. Other criteria 10%: publication of scientific articles
