Offer Description: Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava Announces a Selection Procedure for the Position of: Professor / Associate Professor in Nursing with Appointment as Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Category: Academic Workplace: Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava Workplace specifications: Department of Nursing and Midwifery Position classification: Professor, Associate Professor Job Description: A Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor appointed as head of the Institute is an academic staff member who, within the scope of the agreed job position, performs teaching and research activities at the Institute while simultaneously serving as a manager responsible in particular for: ensuring staffing and delivery of teaching across all levels of study programmes (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral) and contributing to their further development; directing and implementing research activities, grant projects, and publication strategies; supporting internationalization, promotion, and representation of the Institute, including the dissemination of research and professional achievements. The expected form of employment: 100 % (full-time position) The duration of employment: The selected candidate will be employed as an academic staff member and appointed as Head of the Institute for a period of three years. If the selected candidate is already employed by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, their existing employment contract will remain unchanged, and only their functional appointment as Head of the Institute will be modified Probation Period: Employment will be concluded for a fixed term with a six-month probation period. Additional employment notes: The Department of Nursing and Midwifery provides education for students enrolled in Bachelor's and follow-up Master's degree programmes in Nursing and Midwifery, delivered in both full-time and combined forms of study and participates in teaching nursing courses in other degree programs at the faculty/university. The expected Start date: 1 January 2027 Wage conditions: Salary will be determined according to the University's internal salary regulations and will also reflect the candidate’s experience and involvement in research and grant activities.
