Bridging CAD, Image Data and Mechanics for Digital Twins of Additively Manufactured TPMS Lattice Metamaterials

Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard

Deadline

22 November 2026

Description

Offer Description: Please find the full description of the PhD opportunity at the official webpage : link to PhD description Requirements: Skills/Qualifications We are looking for a motivated candidate holding (or about to obtain) a Master's degree or engineering degree in computational mechanics, applied mathematics, mechanical or aerospace engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the project, no single background is expected to cover all aspects: candidates from any of the above disciplines are warmly encouraged to apply, and a genuine interest in working across mechanics, geometry and data science matters more than prior mastery of every topic. The following skills are desirable: • a solid foundation in applied mathematics and/or computational mechanics (e.g. numerical methods, finite elements, continuum mechanics); • programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C++) and an appetite for scientific computing; • some familiarity with, or curiosity for, one or more of the following: geometric modeling / CAD, isogeometric analysis, image processing, machine learning, or experimental mechanics; • an interest in the interplay between numerical simulation, data and manufacturing. Specific Requirements Academic requirements: By the call deadline, candidates must hold a master’s degree or equivalent diploma, and must not hold a doctoral degree. Mobility rule Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the call deadline. Periods spent as a tourist, as a refugee, or in national service are not counted as residence.
