Offer Description: The University of Cádiz is offering a postdoctoral research position for the project entitled ‘Unravelling the role of striatal interneurons in Huntington’s disease and the impact of partial reprogramming’ (HUNTInT Requirements: Research Field All Education Level PhD or equivalent Skills/Qualifications To carry out the following tasks, amongst others:  Design and execution of single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics experiments on post-mortem human brain tissue and animal models.  Sample processing.  Bioinformatic analysis of the data generated in R and/or Python.  Carrying out procedures using mouse models: stereotaxy, behavioural studies, etc.  Validation using molecular and cellular biology techniques.  Drafting scientific manuscripts and presenting results at national and international conferences.  Supporting the technical coordination of the project and collaborating in the supervision of PhD, Master’s and undergraduate students. Internal Application form(s) needed ANEXO 15.- ANA BELÉN MUÑOZ MANCHADO.pdf English (159.32 KB - PDF) Download Additional Information: Eligibility criteria Relevant degree: PhD in Health Sciences, Neuroscience, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or related fields. Experience: Postdoctoral research experience in one of the following areas: (i) bioinformatic analysis of single-cell data (snRNA-seq/scRNA-seq) and/or spatial transcriptomics in R or Python, or other ‘omics’; (ii) experimentation with murine models of neurodegenerative disease, including stereotactic surgery, administration of AAV vectors and behavioural assays; (iii) molecular and cellular biology techniques applied to nervous tissue (cultures, viral vectors, qPCR, immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy). Previous experience with post-mortem human brain tissue will be an advantage. Languages: English, at B2 level or above, both spoken and written.
