Offer Description: The University is offering a research post for the project on the recovery of historical mining waste and waste resulting from the decontamination of acid mine drainage in the Iberian pyrite belt (VALORMINE) Requirements: Research Field All Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent Skills/Qualifications he successful candidate will be required to carry out, amongst others, the following tasks: Activity 1: Sampling and physical-chemical, microstructural and mineralogical characterisation of the waste to be recovered Activity 2: Preparation of samples for the radiological characterisation of the waste Activity 3: Recovery route 1. Providing support as a laboratory technician in experiments designed to study the feasibility of recovering the waste as an additive in cement. Activity 4: Recovery route 2. Providing support as a laboratory technician in experiments designed to study the technical feasibility of using the waste as additives in commercial ceramics or geopolymers. Experience: Experience in gamma and alpha spectrometry measurements, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) measurements, fluorescence, mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction and Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopy (STEM). Languages: English, at C1 level or above Other: Experience as a research support technician, scientific publications or conference presentations.
