Strong discipline, teamwork, and professionalism. Excellent command of English, Bengali, and Rohingya languages (oral and written). A third language is an added advantage. Learn more about IOM’s workplace culture at IOM workplace culture | International Organization for Migration Project Context and Scope IOM Bangladesh, established in 1998, supports the Government of Bangladesh in migration management, humanitarian assistance, and safe, orderly, and regular migration. The largest intervention is in Cox’s Bazar, supporting the Rohingya population in shelter, site management, WASH, health, and communications. To ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing, IOM intends to create a pool of interpreters to provide accurate and high-quality interpretation and translation services. Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing Resettlement Movement Management (RMM), Cox’s Bazar. Qualifications Required Qualifications and Experience Education High School degree, preferably Social Sciences/Education or related discipline from and accredited academic institution with two years of experience; or Secondary Education in above field with five years of relevant professional experience. Experience Minimum 2 years’ practical experience as an Interpreter. Skills Ability to provide high-quality, clear, and faithful interpretation. Capacity to work under pressure in a multicultural environment. Strong discipline, teamwork, and professionalism. Languages Excellent command of English, Bengali, and Rohingya languages (oral and written). A third language is an added advantage. IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish. Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
