GENERAL INFORMATION JOB TITLE: Programme Policy Officer (Resilience) TYPE OF CONTRACT/LEVEL: NOB SUPERVISOR: Head of Resilience Unit UNIT/DIVISION: Programme DUTY STATION (City, Country): Aden, Yemen DURATION: 12 Months Organizational Context The incumbent serves as Deputy Head of the Climate Resilience and Livelihoods Unit of WFP Yemen, providing technical leadership across the climate resilience and livelihoods portfolio. The position operates with a high degree of independence, contributing to strategic and policy discussions, supervising staff, and supporting the delivery of complex Programmes and partnerships. Job Purpose To provide technical leadership, quality assurance and Programme oversight for resilience, livelihoods, ecosystem restoration and value chain development operations, ensuring high-quality design and implementation of Programmes, strengthened government systems and partnerships, effective management of Programme risks and performance, and evidence-based decision-making in support of WFP's resilience agenda. Key Accountabilities: 1. Technical Leadership and Quality Assurance Lead technical oversight of resilience, livelihoods, ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, financial inclusion and value chain development interventions, ensuring Programme quality and adherence to WFP corporate strategies, technical standards and operational guidance. Ensure systematic integration of climate risk management, nutrition-sensitive programming, conflict sensitivity, gender, protection, inclusion, and accountability to affected populations considerations across resilience activities and partner-led interventions. Support the development and refinement of technical tools, methodologies, standard operating procedures and Programme guidance to strengthen quality, consistency and operational effectiveness across resilience interventions.
