Skip to main content Back to search results Senior Clinical Trials Statistician Queen Mary University of London - William Harvey Research Institute Location: London Salary: £54,617 to £60,901 per annum Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract Placed On: 26th August 2026 Closes: 9th September 2026 Job Ref: 9858 About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Statistician to join the Critical Care & Perioperative Medicine Research Group. The Group sits within the William Harvey Research Institute at Queen Mary University of London under the leadership of Professor Rupert Pearse. About You The post holder will provide statistical support for research studies including multi-centre clinical trials, assist in design of new studies and ensure that data is analysed accurately to maximise the quality of publishable results from research studies that they work on. They will be responsible for developing statistical analysis plans, performing data cleaning, conducting statistical analysis, and preparing scientific reports. They will also support the development of large prospective clinical trials and analyse clinical datasets in collaboration with national and international groups focused on improving survival after major surgery. We are looking for a talented individual with a postgraduate qualification, including a major statistical component, and an interest in evaluating novel treatments or interventions of pharmaceuticals, surgery, medical devices or complex interventions. You will have applied experience in clinical trial statistics and/or medical statistics including some project and people management. You should be a good communicator, team-player and be flexible, co-operative, self-motivated and hardworking with a willingness to learn new skills. About the School/Department/Institute/Project Professor Pearse and his team lead a wide variety of research projects that have a major impact both nationally and globally. The group includes Prof Gareth Ackland, Dr John Prowle, Prof Zudin Puthucheary, Clinical Lecturers, Research Fellows and PhD students.
