JOB CONTEXT: Since January 2024, HI has been responding to Sudan’s crisis. HI’s joint multisectoral response in Gedaref State, implemented with a Sudanese partner NGO, is already providing physical and functional rehabilitation services in healthcare centers and at community level, as well as MHPSS services, including individual and group counselling. HI is further engaged at the humanitarian coordination level to mainstream disability inclusion throughout the humanitarian response. HI is scaling up its response from both geographic and modalities/sectorial perspectives. In particular, HI has deployed emergency response teams in Darfur, to setup its operations and initiate its response in the western parts of Sudan. Since 2026, HI team is also active in other sectors such as Functional and Physical rehabilitation, and mutualized logistics. The advertised vacancy is to be part of that team. The main office is currently in Tawila, North Darfur, but HI is also operational in Geneina, West Darfur, and exploring having an operational presence in Nyala, South Darfur. YOUR MISSION: Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, as Stimulation therapy Technical Officer you are responsible for overseeing the implementation of project’ stimulation therapy activities for under five malnourished children. Your role involves providing technical expertise and ensuring strict adherence to HI’s established stimulation therapy protocols by the project’s physiotherapists. You lead the stimulation therapy for malnourished children initial training for the project’s rehabilitation professionals and ensure their continuous follow up and mentorship. You are responsible for fostering a culture of continuous child development stimulation among parents and caregivers, and for guiding the physiotherapists in educating parents/caregivers on age appropriate and needs based stimulation techniques. You work closely with nutritional actors targeted by the project. In this framework, your main missions are : Mission 1: Providing guidance and technical support to project in accordance with the technical frameworks and general standards of your sectoral scope a. Provide appropriate technical guidance and support to project leaders and/or specialists. b. Ensure project(s) Stimulation therapy of malnourished children activities are implemented in accordance with quality and established protocols and propose adjustments or improvements as necessary. c. Adapt project documentation as required, in accordance with Stimulation therapy of malnourished children technical standards and norms. d. Develop stimulation therapy tools and ensure their availability e. Contribute to the regular reporting of stimulation therapy of malnourished children activities (collection and analysis of stimulation therapy data collected) in conjunction with the project team and the MEAL team. f. Coordinate and collaborate with the nutrition actors as delegated by the Project Manager. Mission 2: Providing project-based technical learning a. Ensure global and field technical specialists get the information they need and collaborate with technical divisions as needed. b. Collect the elements necessary for capitalization exercises or scientific documentation. c. Contribute to technical learning under the responsibility of the specialist or project manager, based on best practices. d. Responsible for the technical learning of projects based on lessons learned and good practices e. Adjust activities to audit recommendations as appropriate. f.
