Setting and Reporting This position located in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), in the Tehran Liaison Office. The Light Vehicle Driver reports to the Head of Teheran Liaison Office. Responsibilities • Drives UNAMA vehicles safely for the transportation of authorized personnel. • Delivers and collects official mail, documents supplies and other items. • Assists with the day-to-day maintenance of UNAMA vehicles, carries out daily checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. • Undertakes minor repairs of the vehicle fleet when required, such as changing of flat tyres. • Ensures all assigned vehicles are fully fueled, clean and road worthy. • Records all official trips, daily mileage usage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. • Reports all vehicle damages, mechanical and electrical faults to Transport Officer. • Ensures compliance with UN roles and regulations in relation to reporting vehicle accidents and /or incidents. • Ensures compliance with UN roles and UNAMA security directives/procedures governing road mission convoy. • Preforms other duties as assigned. Meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client. Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary technical or vocational qualification in the relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience in ground transport management is desirable. Job - Specific Qualification Third Grade License is required Work Experience A minimum of one year of experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required. Experience in driving armored vehicles is required. Work experience with the United Nations system or similar international organizations is desirable. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles is desirable.
