Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Chief of Mission and overall supervision of the Head of the Social Cohesion and Resilience Pillar, the Project Associate will support the implementation of IOM activities under the Roma Assistance Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF, with a particular focus on strengthening institutional capacities and coordination mechanisms related to readmission and sustainable reintegration of Roma and other vulnerable populations. The position will require regular coordination with government authorities and relevant institutions at different levels of governance, as well as the organization and follow-up of meetings, trainings, workshops and other project activities. The Project Associate will also support the preparation of project documentation, reports, briefing materials and correspondence, and will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with government counterparts, project partners and other stakeholders. Qualifications Required Qualifications and Experience Education High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations; Experience in the organization of events and confernces; Proven experience and knowledge in project cycle management; Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and, Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Skills Proven ability to prepare written reports, briefing notes and correspondence in an accurate, concise and timely manner. Knowledge of the social, political, and economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with specific focus on readmission processes within migration management realm.
