There are 81 member states, including 54 in Africa (Regional Member Countries). The Bank’s development agenda is delivering the financial and technical support for transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In order to sharply focus the objectives of the Ten-Year Strategy (2023 – 2032) and ensure greater developmental impact, four cardinal points, all of which will accelerate our delivery for Africa, have been identified for scaling up, namely, Mobilizing resources on a large scale to finance Africa’s development; Reforming Africa’s financial architecture; Harnessing the demographic dividend to drive economic growth; and Building climate-resilient infrastructure and robust value addition to natural resources. To realize this vision, the Bank is implementing a major institutional transformation agenda, including the realignment of its organisational structure to enable faster, more integrated, and more regionally grounded responses to Africa’s evolving challenges. As part of this transformation, the Bank is seeking to reshape its management team to provide the leadership required to successfully implement this vision and deliver greater development impact across the continent. THE COMPLEX /THE HIRING DEPARTMENT: Under the realignment, the new model establishes two (2) Managing Director portfolios, six Vice-Presidential Complexes alongside the Chief Economist, and eight Regional Growth Hubs. This realignment will enable the Bank to better deploy high quality knowledge and advisory services, and, most importantly, to accelerate its developmental impacts across Africa. The Managing Directors will act as the link between the President and the Vice Presidents. One of the two (2) Managing Director will be responsible for People, Finance, Technology & Corporate Services; and the other will oversee Operations & Regional Delivery. There are three (3) Vice Presidential Complexes under the Operations & Regional Delivery portfolio: One (1) Vice Presidential Complex for Sectors, Practices & Knowledge; and two (2) Vice Presidential Complexes for Regional Operations. The Vice-Presidential Complexes for Regional Operations have been granted greater authority to ensure that the Bank operates successfully across its Regional Member Countries and to oversee the full implementation of all aspects of the Bank’s Regional Growth Hubs. This model will help to further bring the Bank’s operations closer to its clients; grow its portfolios from sovereign and private sector operations; and expand the revenue of the Bank. THE POSITION: The Bank’s five (5) existing regional departments have been restructured into eight (8) Regional Growth Hubs, designed around a broader set of considerations that go beyond geographical location alone. Each Regional Growth Hub will be led by a Regional Hub Director, who will be responsible for ensuring the Bank’s efficient, effective, and successful operations across the countries within the Hub, as well as the comprehensive implementation of all aspects of the Bank’s work. To strengthen regional delivery and accountability for results, Regional Hub Directors will be vested with greater and more clearly defined decision-making authority. Each Regional Hub Director will report to the Vice President for Regional Operations, as follows: Vice President for Regional Operations 1 will supervise the following Regional Hub Directors: Regional Hub Director, Central Africa & Congo Basin Growth Hub (ROCA) (Cameroon; Burundi; Democratic Republic of Congo; Gabon; Central African Republic; Chad; Republic of Congo; & Equatorial Guinea) Regional Hub Director, Maghreb–Mediterranean Growth Hub (ROMM) (Algeria; Egypt; Morocco; Tunisia; Mauritania; & Libya) Regional Hub Director, Greater Horn & Great Lakes Growth Hub (ROGH) (Kenya; Ethiopia; Rwanda; Sudan; South Sudan; Tanzania; Uganda; Eritrea; & Somalia) Regional Hub Director, Indian Ocean & Maritime States Growth Hub (ROIC) (Madagascar; Djibouti; Comoros; Mauritius; & Seychelles) Vice President for Regional Operations 2 will supervise the following Regional Hub Directors: Regional Hub Director, Lusophone Growth Hub (ROLU) (Angola; Mozambique; Guinea-Bissau; Cabo Verde; and Sao Tome & Principe) Regional Hub Director, West Africa Integrated Markets Growth Hub (ROMI) (Cote d’Ivoire; Benin; Burkina Faso;
