Organizational Context and Scope Under the direct supervision of the Sub-Regional Director, and in close coordination with relevant units at the Sub-Regional and Regional Offices, the Head of Office will be responsible and accountable for the activities of IOM Slovakia, including the day-to-day management and implementation of relevant programme activities, donor liaison and staff management. The Head of Office is responsible for liaising with the Government regarding the full range of IOM activities and for keeping the Sub-Regional Office (SRO) and Headquarters (HQ) Units informed of relevant government concerns, emergencies, and programmatic developments. The Head of Office is responsible and accountable for developing and promoting IOM's strategy and programming within the overall regional framework. Qualifications Required Qualifications and Experience Education Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Business Administration, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five (5) years or relevant professional experience; Or University degree in the above fields with seven (7) years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in complex operational environments, including field-based humanitarian settings. Experience in designing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and frameworks aligned with organizational and donor priorities. Experience in overseeing budgets, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial regulations. Experience in coordinating with UN agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource mobilization. Experience representing an organization at high-level meetings, advocating for humanitarian and migration-related policies with governments and international bodies. Experience working in diverse cultural and political contexts, with an understanding of migration dynamics and regional geopolitical factors. Skills Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead in complex and high-pressure environments. Ability to analyze trends, assess risks, and develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals. Strong diplomatic and negotiation skills for engaging with governments, donors, and other key stakeholders. Expertise in managing multi-sectoral humanitarian programs, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ability to identify funding opportunities, develop proposals, and maintain relationships with donors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate for humanitarian and migration-related issues effectively.
