Skip to main content Back to search results Student Welfare Adviser UCL - Department of Mathematics Location: London, Hybrid Salary: £43,981 to £54,019 Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Permanent Placed On: 28th August 2026 Closes: 2nd September 2026 Job Ref: B04-07707 About the role Applications are invited for a full-time Student Welfare Adviser position to work with to work alongside colleagues to provide professional services to the Department. This post is available from 5 th October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Interviews are planned for the week of 7 th -11 th September 2026. About you A successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and significant experience of working in a higher education environment, usually within a welfare/support related role in a large institution, and a good understanding of student support and welfare issues. They will have proven track record of delivery of a high-quality administrative service to undergraduate students and a good understanding of the key issues influencing the UK Higher Education environment and how these affect the student experience. They would have significant experience in supporting/working with students and academics effectively, experience in improving infrastructure and environment to enhance the student experience and a creative approach to, problem solving and responding flexibly to planning and change within general policies, procedures/guidelines. An outstanding candidate will have significant experience in working to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the workplace, have experience of working with student records systems (SITS preferred) and commitment to and knowledge of advancing equality, diversity and inclusion For a full spectrum of duties and responsibilities as well as essential, and desired criteria please refer to the Further Particulars document attached to this advert.
