In this critical role, you will contribute to strengthening UNICEF’s child protection programme by supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of child protection interventions. You will provide technical and operational support throughout the programme cycle, helping to ensure that activities are well planned, effectively implemented, properly monitored and aligned with UNICEF’s Strategic Plan, results-based management approaches and accountability standards. You will also contribute to strengthening coordination with government counterparts, partners and other stakeholders, supporting efforts to prevent and respond to violence, abuse, exploitation and other forms of harm against children. Through your work, you will help translate programme priorities into concrete and sustainable results that protect children’s rights and contribute to a stronger protective environment for children in Haiti. Based in Port-au-Prince and reporting to the Chief, Child Protection, your key functions will include: Support to programme/project development and planning Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results Technical and operational support to programme implementation Networking and partnership building Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building If you would like to know more about this position, please review the complete Job Description here: JD_Child Protection Specialist_P3 TA.pdf To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… Minimum requirements: Education : Completed Master’s Degree or equivalent (advanced university degree) in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field is required. Work Experience : A minimum of five years of professional experience in project planning and management in child protection related areas is required. Working at the international level in a developing country and in an emergency context is required. Language Requirements : An intermediate level in French and English is required. Desirables: Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish or Russian) is an asset. International work experience or field work experience for UNICEF in Child Protection in Emergencies in a complex emergency setting will be a strong advantage. Experience with UNICEF programmatic response and tools (e.g. Vision/etools/insight, KPI, etc) will be a strong asset. Knowledge of results-based management (RBM) principles and approaches would be an asset. Capacity building experience will be an added advantage.
