Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Information Services Section of the Humanitarian Sector Division (ISS), Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions. This position-specific job opening is being advertised for the position of Programme Management Officer in Nairobi, Kenya. The incumbent reports to the Chief of the Information Services Section and serves as the Head of Unit for the Community Platforms Unit. Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Programme Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Serves as product manager for ReliefWeb providing strategic leadership of the platform, defining the long-term roadmap and ensuring delivery aligns with organizational priorities and user needs of humanitarians. • Develops, implements and evaluates assigned programmes/projects, etc.; monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and initiates corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; ensures follow-up actions. • Facilitates workshops and other interactive sessions and assists in developing quarterly workplans, product roadmaps and action plans to manage the change, balancing stakeholder priorities, user needs, technical feasibility, and organizational capacity • Builds relationships with the product managers of other OCHA platforms including the Humanitarian Data Exchange to inform the development of common data standards, schemas and AI integration to ensure a coherent approach in line with agreed strategy. • Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources. • Coordinates policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies, • Generates survey initiatives to understand user needs for relevant platform; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identify problems/issues and prepares conclusions. • Organizes and prepares written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc. • Initiates and coordinates outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities. • Coordinates activities related to budget funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.). • Supervises teams involved in collecting, verifying and cataloging information and data. • Liaises with technical teams and service providers on software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure and platform requirements. • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. • Perfor
