The National Science Foundation (NSF), NSF EPSCoR Graduate Fellowship Program (EGFP) supports EGFP-designated institutions/programs in EPSCoR jurisdictions by providing funding for graduate fellowships for eligible applicants. Institutions receive a total of three years of stipend and associated cost-of-education (COE) allowance for each NSF EPSCoR Graduate Fellow.
This award at the University of Vermont (UVM) seeks to enhance research competitiveness and capability through an investment in talent development. Fellow research topics will align with goals and programs supported by the NSF Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE), and the Directorate for Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (TIP). Research topics and activities will focus on translational AI and ML research and learning in a world-renowned interdisciplinary complex systems institute where researchers bring expertise in digital healthcare, security, modeling, and prediction. AIM Fellows will work with an industry partner and a faculty mentor who will facilitate the industry mentoring relationship. The fellowships will incorporate experiential learning rooted in real-world scenarios, collaboration with industry partners, and leverage relationships to advance NSF’s goal to build capacity for STEM research and innovation and economic growth.
