The live music industry is a significant contributor to the UK economy with music tourism generating £6.6 billion to the UK economy (UK Music), but event organisers face many challenges in delivering high quality, safe and sustainable events.
This project will provide Music Festival and Live music organisers with an innovative platform the provides the event management team with a real-time digital twin of the event, enhanced with an AI powered copilot to support them with the most useful and relevant information.
TwinLabs.ai has already demonstrated the value of real-time digital twins in major cycling races having developed this technology for the Tour de France, and deployed it for most of the world's largest cycling races. This project will adapt this capability for the live music industry enhancing it with AI capabilities to provide event organisers with information that has never been available to them before.
In discussion with event operators and suppliers, it has been identified that efficient and smooth entry to the festival is one of the highest priority operational challenges, therefore this project will focus on ticket scanning and entry efficiency.
Key benefits that this project will drive for event organisers include:
Real-time situational awareness -- real-time intelligence about gate throughput and operator efficiency , enabling identification of over and under capacity gates, percentage of guests checked in, and ensuring smooth operation.
Improved Guest Experience -- Guests’ first impression of an event is when they arrive to check in at the entrance gates. This first impression sets the tone for the whole event, so making this experience as smooth as possible is critically important.
Maximising share of wallet -- Ensuring a quick entry to the festival allows more time within the ticketed festival space which correlates to increase spending on food and beverages.
Optimising resource allocation -- In an industry with extremely tight profit margins, live event organisers must balance ensuring sufficient people and assets are available when required, while carefully managing costs. The ability to measure and analyse actual throughput data allows them to responsive, real-time data driven decisions about required staffing levels.
Guest Safety -- Safety is a huge concern for event organisers, particularly given high profile incidents that have resulted in multiple deaths and injuries. Entry gates are a significant pinch point, and opportunity for major congestion. Ensuring the right staffing levels, and efficiency minimises the risk of overcrowding at gates.
