AI Application Assistant Details Work Location Flexible (Hybrid, all remote, or in-person) Expected duration 3 to 6 months. Desired start date is 16 November 2026 or sooner. Duties and Responsibilities The duration of the internship is for three (3) months with a possibility of extension. This internship is UNPAID in person and full-time (35 hours per week), on the United Nations premise working arrangement from (New York, USA). This internship is designed to be full-time and in-person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate to part-time (20 hours per week) and/or remote. The position is located in the Division for Palestinian Rights of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs at UN Headquarters in New York. The Division for Palestinian Rights serves as the Secretariat of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) of the General Assembly. This Internship will require social/digital media management skills, including content creation and variety of video skills, including video editing with a particular emphasis on animations. The Intern should be familiar with common video and image editing software packages, such as Adobe After Effects, including subtitles and visual effects. The selected individual should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail and meeting deadlines. The Intern will: - Identify UN-related storytelling opportunities and translate stories into completed content. - Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. - Generate social media content from special events organized by the Division on behalf of the Committee (film screenings, concerts, exhibits, etc.). - Provide production assistance, videography, video editing assistance, and create high-quality animations. - Take and edit photos and record videos in a variety of multimedia formats for web content and announcements on social media platforms. - Undertake other assignments including drafting, as required to support the Division for Palestinian Rights. - Support ongoing multimedia updates to the UNISPAL website. Qualifications/special skills Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Relevant training or practical experience in Adobe After Effects and other video and photo editing software is required. For this internship, studies in Communication and Advertising are preferred. Languages English or French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the internship advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.
