For the Bureau des Comores, the WASH Officer level 2 will play a key role in supporting the Country Programme, where WASH is a significant part of our initiatives. The WASH Officer will report directly to a Health Specialist (Team Leader for health and nutrition including Wash section). Their responsibilities will include providing technical, operational, and administrative support throughout all stages of the WASH programme. This involves preparing, managing, and executing a wide range of technical and administrative tasks that contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH-related results within the country programme. The role supports the full WASH programme cycle, from contributing to evidence-based programme design and planning to supporting implementation, monitoring, and reporting on results. It provides technical and operational assistance to ensure quality delivery of WASH interventions, while supporting coordination with partners and compliance with organizational procedures. The position contributes to humanitarian WASH preparedness and response, strengthens collaboration with government and partners, and promotes innovation, learning, and capacity building to improve programme effectiveness and sustainability. If you would like to know more about this position, please review the complete Job Description here: JD_WASH Officer_NO2 To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… Minimum requirements: Education : An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Engineering, Public Health, Social Sciences, Behavior Change Communication, or another relevant technical field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work Experience : At least 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Climate Change, Programme Development, Programme Management, Humanitarian Preparedness, Innovation, Networking, Capacity Building, Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and any other related fields. Skills : WASH Programming, Humanitarian Response, Sector Coordination, Programme Management, Capacity Development, Monitoring evaluation. Language Requirements : Intermediate level English and proficient/fluent level French language knowledge is required. Desirables: Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) or Comorian Previous experience with Infrastructure, Civil Engineering, Solar Energy, Tendering, Construction Supervision Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
