Final conference of the COST Cross-Cutting Activity on career development for young researchers Brussels October 28, 2026 09:00 - October 29, 2026 12:00 Supporting the next generation of researchers: from ambition to action How can Europe create better, more attractive and sustainable careers for its researchers? And what needs to change to ensure that young researchers have the support and opportunities they need to thrive? On 28–29 October 2026 , COST will bring together researchers, research organisations, career development experts and European stakeholders in Brussels for the final conference of the COST Cross-Cutting Activity (CCA) ‘Supporting the career development of young researchers’ . Over the past two years, the CCA has explored some of the key challenges affecting research careers in Europe. This conference is an opportunity to share what we have learned – and, importantly, to discuss what comes next . Through panel discussions, presentations and exchanges, participants will explore the experiences and needs of young researchers; career advisory and support services; building communities and networks for young researchers; and gender equality and diversity in research. The conference will also connect these discussions to the wider European policy landscape, with a keynote on ‘Empowering the Next Generation of Researchers’ by Mr Manuel Aleixo , Expert in the Cabinet of Commissioner Zaharieva.
