For every child, the right to Results UNICEF Dominican Republic Country Programme (2023-2027) contributes with the national priorities laid out in the 2030 National Development Strategy, the Multi-year Plan for the Public Sector 2021-2024 and the Sustainable Development Goals. As the Dominican Republic transitions from an upper-middle-income to a high-income country context, the Country Office is undergoing a transformation of its business model to strengthen strategic positioning, partnerships, risk-informed programming, resource stewardship and the efficient delivery of results for children. Aligned with UNICEF’s new Strategic Plan, the office places stronger emphasis on risk management, mitigation measures, programme performance, evidence-based decision-making and strategic partnerships as core elements of programme management and organizational effectiveness. How can you make a difference? As Programme Budget Officer, you will play a pivotal role in helping UNICEF Dominican Republic translate strategic priorities into coordinated action and results for children. Working closely with the Deputy Representative and programme teams, you will support the planning, monitoring and oversight of the Country Programme, ensuring that resources, partnerships, risks and programme progress are aligned for maximum impact. Based on the approved job profile, the role supports programme planning, budgeting, grants monitoring, financial reporting, risk-informed programme follow-up and partnership management. Additionally, this role will help generate the analysis, insights and follow-up needed to support strategic decision-making and programme performance. This role goes beyond programme budgeting and financial oversight. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the coordination of strategic priorities across the Country Office, helping connect programme areas and facilitate collaboration across sectors. You will contribute to bringing together diverse programme perspectives, tracking cross-cutting initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and supporting integrated approaches that maximize results for children. Whether supporting programme reviews, monitoring strategic commitments, or helping advance priorities such as gender, violence prevention and other cross-sectoral agendas, you will serve as a key connector between strategy, coordination and results. Key functions/accountabilities include: Programme Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Programme Budgeting Supports the preparation, review and analysis of budget plans, cost estimates and budget analysis, including the compilation of narrative inputs and supporting tables required for finalization. Management of Partnerships Performs quality checks of partnership documents and data uploaded in eTools, and supports sections in entering, updating and amending programme documents, partnership information, assurance records and closure timelines.
