Role Summary The global financial system is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by digital assets, stablecoins, tokenisation, programmable money, and emerging financial infrastructure. These developments are increasingly shaping international finance, economic competitiveness, monetary sovereignty and geopolitical influence. The Policy Analyst – Geoeconomics & Digital Assets will conduct research and analysis to support TBI’s work on these developments and their implications for governments. The postholder will contribute to high-quality policy research examining how emerging financial technologies and changes in the international financial system affect national resilience, economic competitiveness and strategic influence. They will help translate complex economic, technological and geopolitical developments into clear analysis and practical policy recommendations. Working with colleagues across TBI, the Analyst will contribute to policy papers, briefings and other analytical products and, under supervision, support engagement with governments, regulators, central banks, academics, international organisations and industry stakeholders. This is a junior position suitable for new graduates from a relevant master’s programme or candidates with approximately 2–3 years of relevant professional experience. Research, Analysis and Policy Development Conduct high-quality qualitative and quantitative research on geoeconomics and digital assets. Contribute to TBI research and policy development on areas including digital assets, stablecoins, tokenisation, CBDCs, sovereign digital financial infrastructure and financial-market infrastructure. Analyse how emerging financial technologies are affecting international finance, monetary sovereignty, economic competitiveness and geopolitical influence. Research wider developments in geoeconomics and economic statecraft and assess their implications for governments. Support the development of practical, evidence-based policy recommendations. Monitor relevant political, economic, regulatory and technological developments and identify emerging issues requiring further analysis. Contribute to policy papers, reports, briefing notes, presentations, blogs and other written products. Government and Policy Support Support the preparation of briefings and analytical materials for political leaders, policymakers and senior government officials. Contribute research and analysis to government-facing policy work on digital finance and sovereign digital financial infrastructure. Help translate complex financial, technological and geopolitical issues into clear and accessible recommendations for policymakers. Support colleagues in responding to policy and advisory requests from across TBI. Stakeholder Engagement Support engagement with governments, regulators, central banks, international organisations, academics, think tanks and industry experts. Develop and maintain a network of relevant external experts and organisations. Use external expertise and evidence to test and strengthen TBI’s analysis and policy recommendations. Support roundtables, expert discussions, seminars and other policy convenings. Under supervision, represent TBI in relevant external discussions and events.
